Patrick Crowther
Managing Director

BSc (Hons) MRICS

Patrick is a chartered building surveyor who qualified in 1995. The early years of his career were spent with large practices in London’s West End but, in 2001, he became a partner in Crowther and Co, which subsequently became Crowther Overton-Hart. As well as managing the business, Patrick also undertakes professional work, particularly (but not exclusively) dilapidations, party walls and building surveys.

Patrick is a trained assessor for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), He is an active member of the Sussex branch of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club which promotes excellence in party wall practice.

In his spare time Patrick enjoys watching sport and is a member of his local rugby and cricket clubs.
Bob Overton-Hart


Bob is a chartered building surveyor with over 40 years’ experience. As well as being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors he is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Bob's experience covers all aspects of building surveying and he specialises in conservation projects, defects analysis and expert witness. Bob is the serving Project Officer for the Sussex Heritage Trust and sits on the judging panel for their annual awards. He is member of the Brighton and Hove Planning Agents’ Forum and a chairman of panels for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), the assessment process which junior surveyors undertake in order to achieve chartered status.

In his spare time Bob is involved with his local church and likes to keep fit, enjoying cycling and walking.
Robert Harris

BSc (Hons) MRICS

Robert is a chartered building surveyor with over 26 years of experience in private practice, that extends across properties ranging from commercial, industrial, rural and residential. including listed and historic buildings.

Robert has extensive experience as a contract administrator under JCT forms of building contract. With a strong grounding in the legal aspects of professional services. Robert has acted as expert witness and advisor, and has managed boundary dispute negotiations between residential neighbours. Specialist professional roles include acting for landlords and tenants in dilapidations claims.

Robert is a member of The Pyramus & Thisbe Club for party wall surveyors and has negotiated party wall awards for commercial and residential property owners in London and the South East. Robert is an assessor for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), and has successfully mentored graduate surveyors through the RICS APC process. Robert is a keen bowls player; has represented Sussex on the indoor and outdoor greens, and is League Secretary for his indoor club. He is a volunteer for RNIB, and also enjoys cycling and is a fan of motor racing.

Hugh is our Consultant Building Surveyor.

Office Manager

Sheila is our office manager and deals with accounts.
Cathy Haines
Senior Building Surveyor


Cathy has worked with Bob Overton-Hart since 2003 and joined Crowther Overton-Hart on its inception in 2010. She qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2013 having previously completed a Masters degree in surveying and an interior design course. She is a Member of the Association of Project Safety. She is also a graduate of the RICS/SPAB Conservation Summer School.

Cathy’s role includes design work, contract administration, reinstatement cost assessments, inspections and party wall advice on a varied range of buildings and projects. Cathy is COH’s main advisor on the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and is a trained Principal Designer and CDM Advisor.

In her spare time Cathy helps lead the youth group at her local church, and also enjoys travelling, photography and visiting European cities.
Andrew Coleman
Senior Building Surveyor

BA (Hons) PgDip MRICS

Andrew is a chartered building surveyor. He is experienced in all types of surveying work and as well as occasional private client work he is lead surveyor for a number of our management clients. Prior to joining us he worked for a national surveying firm covering projects throughout south east England, predominantly for estate and portfolio clients.

Andrew lives on the South Downs and enjoys walking and cycling around his home. He is also a keen amateur photographer.
Lizzie Feakes
Assistant Surveyor

Lizzie joined COH in 2018 and has a passion for historic buildings, being a member of SPAB, currently working towards her IHBC and MRICS accreditations. She is involved in all aspects of building surveying work, but her workload is centred on building projects and party wall work.

Lizzie is also a keen point to point jockey in her spare time and enjoys kayaking with her boyfriend in the summer.
Nigel Batchelor
Senior Architectural Technologist

Nigel joined Crowther Overton-Hart in 2013 as our Senior Architectural Technologist.

Originally employed as a Land Surveyor and Architectural CAD Technician for London Regional Transport, he has worked on a wide range of architectural projects using his skills in CAD to full advantage. High points in a varied career to date include mapping work for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and working for Norman Foster Associates on Stansted Airport, as well as numerous schemes of a more routine nature.

At COH he produces design and record drawings on all types of project and also handles planning and building control applications and feasibility studies. Nigel spent 7 years designing and building his own yacht and now enjoys sailing it in his spare time.
Henry Brann BSc (Hons)
Assistant Surveyor

Henry is a graduate building surveyor who joined Crowther Overton-Hart in 2019, following on from his studies at Sheffield Hallam University. With additional experience in land surveying and topography, he is currently working towards his RICS accreditation.

Henry is currently involved with his local football club, Cuckfield FC, as well as previously representing his university american football team.
